The photographer Jordan Matter asked me to be in his book Dancers After Dark. I loved the picture so much I recorded my live album back at the Cafe Carlyre just as an excuse to put the image on the cover!!

I wrote and directed this short film for the W Hotel Times Square in support of the animal adoption charity Broadway Barks. My friend and long time collaborator Ned Stresen-Reuter shot and edited it, and it was premiered at a party at the W Times Square on December 8th. It marked the movie debut of my dog Jerry, and the final appearance of our dear departed Leon.
I flew to Scotland to shoot an episode of NBC's 1stLookTv. The show was organised by Visit Scotland and was designed to encourage Americans to visit my homeland. The show's host, George Oliphant, and I traveled across the country, making stops in Glasgow, Edinburgh, my birthplace Aberfeldy and up various hills and in many bars!
I appeared in a video segment of the musical theater piece Lazarus, written by David Bowie and Enda Walsh and directed by Ivo Van Howe, at the New York Theater Workshop. The piece is based on the novel The Man Who Fell To The Earth.
I did a cameo in my old chum Bianca Del Rio's movie, Hurricane Bianca.
On June 7th, I co-hosted the Tony Awards with Kristin Chenoweth. I wrote about the experience in my Globe and Mail column days later

I am performed a lot of concerts this year. I played Ft Lauderdale, New Orleans, San Francisco, Buck's County, Carnegie Hall with the NY Pops, a two week run of my new show Alan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs at the Cafe Carlyle and then Saratoga, the Ravinia festival in Chicago, Bard College Spiegeltent, Indianapolis, Kean University, Scottsdale, Atlantic City, New Bedford.
At the end of the year I went to Australia and performed in Brisbane, Lismore, Melbourne and Sydney.
I shot a series of short interviews about iconic moments in people’s lives entitled, “Remember That Time.” We shot them at Sardi’s, the legendary theater restaurant in New York City, and they were first broadcast on CBS All Access.
Here's a wee PSA I made to highlight the bigoted and totally stupid blood ban that exists for gay and bisexual men here in the USA. Unfortunately, the situation is similar in many other countries too, including my homeland of Scotland!
I played the Bog King in this animated film from the George Lucas company. I had been attached to the film for years through many changes both in front of and behind the camera. I especially loved working with Marius de Vries the music supervisor, who coached and carried me through some amazing songs over the years!
