This award was started to acknowledge the importance of efforts focused on advancing an equity agenda. I was recognized for my leadership on issues of equity on behalf of the LGBT community as well as around the issue of domestic violence and abuse. I was honored to have the nonprofit human services community acknowledge my efforts!
I was honoured by the Lowline, an amazing organisation that aims to use innovative solar technology to illuminate an historic trolley terminal on the Lower East Side of New York City. Their vision is a stunning underground park, providing a beautiful respite and a cultural attraction in one of the world’s most dense, exciting urban environments. As it was Halloween, I collected my award in my Spiderman outfit!
After Louie was the closing night film of the 2017 Frameline film festival at the Castro Theatre in San Fransisco, and before the screening I was presented with the Frameline award. The award is given to person or entity that has made a major contribution to LGBTQ representation in film, television, or the media arts.
I received the Nanci Alexander Animal Activist Award from PETA during a special Valentine’s bash at Sublime Restaurant & Bar in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
