I talked a lot this year! Mostly about The Traitors and Pitlochry…

Club Cumming Docuseries on WOWPresents+

My friends at World of Wonder shot a docuseries about my beloved cabaret bar Club Cumming, focussing on the characters who make it such a special and welcoming queer space, including cabaret singer Daphne Always, go-go dancer and drag performer Michelle Wynters, drag queen Brini Maxwell, drag king Cunning Stunt, comedian Jake Cornwell and Club Cumming co-owner and manager Darren Dryden. I appear too!

“My vision for Club Cumming has always been to create the ethos of old New York nightlife: A place for all ages, all genders, all colors, all sexualities, where kindness is all and anything can happen,” Cumming said. “It’s a cabaret club but also a dance club, a drag club, an art club, a community center, a safe space – it’s whatever the LGBTQ+ community needs and wants it to be. I’m so happy that World of Wonder and WOW Presents Plus is making this show about our Club Cumming tribe and showcasing the talents and the stories and the lives of these queer icons of tomorrow.”

“Club Cumming provides a stage for the kind of wild and wonderful artists who deserve to be celebrated,” added Randy Barbato & Fenton Bailey, Co-founders of World of Wonder and series exec producers. “The collective voices of Alan and the team make for a roar that will make you laugh, make you cry and above all realize the importance of cumming together now more than ever. Bringing Club Cumming to the screen is an incredible honor.”A new doc will go behind the scenes at Club Cumming, Alan Cumming’s gay bar and nightclub in New York. Club Cumming is a six-parter for streaming service WOW Presents Plus.

Hosting

In January I hosted the AARP Movies For Grown Ups awards for the fourth time, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles in January. It was broadcast on PBS

In May I hosted the BAFTA TV awards in London, follows by the Clio awards for advertising in NYC a few days later.

I guest hosted the Jimmy Kimmel show on Monday 21st July and caused quite a furore with my opening monologue in which I addressed the anti-trans rhetoric and persecution that is rife in America. The cast of the Fantastic Four and Pamela Adlon were the guests I interviewed.

Finally in November I hosted the SLTN (Scottish Licensed Trade News) awards in Glasgow.
